US PRESENCE: A company outside of the United States can have a business phone number for U.S. customers which can connect them to any phone in the world using either business extensions or Sales, Support, etc. queues (i.e. ACD queues).

By Benjamin Lange, VirtualPBX.Com, Inc. . December 2003.

Using the Virtual PBX a company which is not located in the United States can have a U.S. 800, 888, 877, 866 number which is answered either with a professional autoattendant or a live operator. Non U.S. telephone numbers can be connected to extensions in the Virtual PBX. The customer calls the U.S. number, dials the extension and is connected to a telephone anywhere in the world. All of this is transparent to the customer who has the same experience as if he had called a business in the U.S.

Voice Mail and Faxes can be sent to extension owners over the web or by email. This means that it is not necessary to make a long distance call to the U.S. to retrieve Voice Mail or Faxes. In fact the Virtual PBX has complete web management so that all system and extension configuration (owner's phone numbers, etc.) can be done on the web. This even includes the Music-On-Hold which can be selected from a list of titles on the system administrator's web-management page.

In addition the VirtualPBX has Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) queues. These can be Sales, Support, Accounting or any queue which the business desires. ACD queues are for customers who know what they want, but don't know whom they want. They are indispensable for any professional business phone system. Extensions login into ACD queues and take calls on a "round-robin" basis or in any order which the business desires.

This feature of the Virtual PBX allows non-U.S. companies to have all of the advantages of having local sales and support offices in the U.S. without having to be physically present in the country.
